COVID-19 Protocols

COVID-19 Protocols, Procedures and Requirements

New COVID-19 Protocols, Procedures and Requirements outlined by our massage organizations, OSHA, and the CDC

  • PPE REQUIREMENTS:  Therapists AND clients will be required to wear masks at all times while in the building, the office and for the duration of every session. As a client, you do not have to wear a medical grade mask (a simple cloth mask that covers your mouth and nose is sufficient).  I will also be changing clothes and socks between clients, so nothing I wear will touch more than one client.
    •  I ask that all clients keep their mask on at all times with the exception when you are face down.  Through my research and studies I have found a safe way for clients to receive a massage face down without having to wear their mask. I basically cover the whole entire face cradle with a pillowcase that will contain your respiratory droplets). When we get to the massage room I will instruct you to leave your mask on till I come back into the room (if we are starting face down) or when i will take it from you (if we are starting face up). When I take your mask from you with sanitized hands, I place it in a sanitized UV sterilizer box that also as an option to add a little aromatherapy to your mask;)
  • ARRIVING AT THE OFFICE: Our office does not have a lobby large enough to effectively social distance.  We will have the door locked all day.  When you get to the office text me and I will text you back whether I am ready for you or if i need a few more minutes. You may not have anyone accompany you inside for your massage.  If someone drives you, they must wait outside or in the car. Wear your mask before you enter the building, when inside, you will be directed to wash your hands. Then I will ask you a couple of COVID-19 related questions, take your temperature, and a blood oxygen level reading before we proceed with the treatment. These numbers will be recorded and kept on file in case they are needed for contact tracing.
  • CLEANING COVID-19 Protocols:  Before and after each service, I will clean and sanitize any of the following that has been touched, either by myself or client: door handles to bathrooms, front door, and their office, as well as break-room and bathroom sink handles, toilet handles, water dispenser nozzle (and any other surface touched by client or practitioner), especially in common area. This is on top of regular cleaning of the surfaces of the massage room. I have also added air purifiers in the receptionist area and treatment rooms, added a plastic table cover to effectively clean the massage table in between sheet changing and have made much of the office non-touch (soap dispensers, trash cans, etc.).
  • SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS: In order to schedule your appointment this form needs to be signed stating you understand and will comply to all the above requirements.  I will confirm each of these points with you every time I confirm an appointment. In the case of an exposure, I will shut down all appointments to self-quarantine the recommended 14 days and notify any clients needed of exposure (without compromising the original client’s information).
    • Sickness Massage/bodywork is not appropriate care for infectious or contagious illness. Please cancel your appointment as soon as you are aware of an infectious or contagious condition. If it is within the 24-hour notice period, the cancellation fee may be waived. While sickness is always contraindicated for massage, we must take extra care with COVID.  If you have had ANY sickness symptoms within the last 14 days, been in contact with any sick person within the last 14 days, or traveled to a designated COVID hot spot,  you must reschedule your session.  If you come in for a session and become sick after or find out you were exposed within 14 days of your massage, you must notify me.  If you have been symptom free for 14 days, you can then schedule another appointment.
  • TARDINESS: Appointment times are as scheduled and cannot extend beyond the stated time to accommodate late arrivals. Please be on time to your appointment.
  • FAILURE TO COMPLY:  If you commit to an appointment and become ill or exposed, you can cancel anytime without consequence.  However, if you book an appointment and show up but refuse to comply with the new policies, your session will be terminated and you will be charged 100% of your session.
Thank you for complying with all the new COVID-19 Protocols!
